About The Clinician

Melanie Stargell is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with clinical interests in anger management, anxiety, relational and attachment functioning, along with the intersections between psychology and the criminal justice system. She has experience in individual, couple, and family counseling, and has worked in the criminal justice policy arenas with the Department of Corrections and Maryland Problem Solving Courts.

Melanie believes that therapeutic change occurs when one finds congruence with their current and ideal self and that her role as a clinician is to provide guidance in finding mental, emotional, and spiritual balance. Another supporter of change is the therapeutic relationship and rapport between clinician and client. Melanie strives to build support and as an Eclectic clinician, she holds space for her clients through a variety of therapeutic interventions and approaches that best suit their needs.  Therefore, a session could be in person or virtual and incorporate traditional talk therapy or expressive arts modalities including journaling, meditation, painting, sculpting, poetry, and more.

Melanie’s ideal client is anyone who is on the journey to creating peace in their mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual domains. She also enjoys serving those who have been justice involved and are having difficulty finding their new normal.
