About The Clinician

Jayasree Stewart is a compassionate Licensed Graduate Social Worker, holding a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She has a strong clinical interest in counseling and providing support to various marginalized populations, including immigrant groups, Spanish-speakers, women, adolescents, and children.

Jayasree’s professional experience is enriched by her work at La Finca del Niño (The Farm of the Child), a foster care home/center/orphanage in Honduras. In this role, she offered valuable emotional and practical support to children and caregivers, gaining insight into the unique challenges faced by youth in vulnerable situations. Her experience at La Finca del Niño has equipped her with a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding child welfare and the importance of providing a nurturing environment for growth and healing.

Furthermore, Jayasree has worked as a psychiatric liaison/social worker in the emergency rooms of two major hospitals in Prince George’s County. In this crucial role, she provided comprehensive support to individuals in acute psychiatric distress, ensuring their safety and connecting them with appropriate resources. Her experience in emergency room settings has given her a thorough understanding of crisis intervention and the ability to effectively assess and address mental health concerns in high-pressure situations.

Jayasree’s ideal clients encompass a diverse range of individuals, including children, immigrants, Spanish-speakers, pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and those who have experienced the loss of a child or a complicated pregnancy. She is well-versed in addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by these populations and is dedicated to providing them with compassionate and culturally sensitive care.

Additionally, Jayasree has considerable experience working with individuals dealing with depressive disorders, anxiety, and trauma recovery.
