Stephanie Birmingham, LGMFT

About The Clinician

Stephanie is a Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist. She completed her internship and practicum at Washington Area Clinical Center, where she gained valuable practical experience and honed her skills as a clinician. Now an LGMFT at WACC, Stephanie continues to grow in her practice, focusing on early intervention and prevention.

Stephanie is deeply committed to helping families and individuals actualize their potential and create fulfilling relationships. She believes in the transformative power of therapy to address issues early on, empowering clients to make positive changes and develop the skills necessary to thrive.

Stephanie’s approach to therapy is guided by a few core principles. First, all behavior can be understood within the context it develops. Family, larger society and culture, and chosen experiences interplay in a unique manner that lead to this moment in your life. Gaining insight into how this moment arrived can often light the path forward to where you want to go. Second, the therapeutic relationship is one that she is dedicated to continuously cultivating and strengthening. All healthy relationship require intention and attunement, and she believes the therapeutic relationship is no different. Through collaboration and compassion, Stephanie develop a non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences without the damaging effects of shame.

As a lifelong student of her craft as a therapist, Stephanie is dedicating to supporting individuals and families heal from pain, grow from trauma, improve their relationship with themselves and others, and build lives they genuinely enjoy.
