About The Clinician

KaVonna’s background includes years of community-based social work supporting individuals and families through crisis, housing instability, trauma, and major life transitions. Her professional experience spans nonprofit, behavioral health, human service, and community-based organizations, giving her a strong understanding of how family relationships, environment, and larger systems can shape a person’s experiences.

During her graduate education, KaVonna was selected as a Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) Scholar, where she received specialized interdisciplinary training in intergenerational and historical trauma. She remains committed to continued professional development and plans to pursue doctoral education in social work in the future.

KaVonna believes therapy should feel human, collaborative, and free of judgment. She works to create a space where clients can be honest about what they are experiencing, better understand the patterns influencing their lives, and determine what healing and growth look like for them. While she provides space for reflection and processing, she is also willing to ask difficult questions and gently challenge clients when it can support meaningful change.

Her ideal clients do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. She values authenticity, curiosity, consistency, and a willingness to engage in the process, even when the work feels uncomfortable. KaVonna encourages clients to ask questions, communicate openly about what is or is not working, and take an active role in shaping their therapeutic experience. She is especially comfortable working with clients who are carrying multiple stressors at once and need a space to slow things down, make sense of what they’re experiencing, and identify practical ways to move forward.
