Jamie Cyrway, Master’s Candidate, Intern

I believe therapy is a sacred space for growth. My goal is to walk alongside you, offering curiosity instead of judgement, and hope instead of fear. Change begins when we feel safe enough to be honest with ourselves and with others.

Jamie will be joining us in August. If you’re interested in working with her before then, we will begin scheduling assessments with a supervising clinician ahead of her start date. Once Jamie starts, clients can then be assigned to work with her directly. Register as a new patient here!

About The Clinician

Jamie earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2001 and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work with a Clinical Cognate in Individual and Family Therapy from Liberty University with an expected graduation in August 2027.

With nearly two decades of experience supporting government contracts, including extensive work with military agencies, Jamie brings a unique blend of professional discipline and personal insight to her clinical training. As a parent whose children receive on Fort Meade and a proud member of a multigenerational military family, she has a deep appreciation for the strength, transitions, and unique challenges faced by military families. Her passion for supporting children and families grew out of her lived experiences and professional development from growing up in a Village in Maine to navigating her own family. She is deeply familiar with the challenges families face, especially those navigating transitions, trauma, and intergenerational stressors.

Jamie’s professional interests center around trauma-informed care, family dynamics, emotional regulation, and life transitions. She has experience supporting children, adolescents, and parents in various settings, including schools, community-based programs, and faith-centered initiatives. She specializes in helping individuals process grief, anxiety, depression, and unresolved trauma, as well as guiding families through relational conflict, parenting challenges, and adolescent development.

Jamie is also deeply committed to supporting clients who seek meaning, purpose, or healing within the context of their faith. She has provided faith-based support to individuals and families in various capacities and honors each individuals spiritual and secular worldview. Whether a client sees life as a spiritual journey or not, she approaches each therapeutic relationship with cultural humility and open-minded respect, creating space for clients to explore life’s questions safely and without judgement.

In her clinical work, Jamie integrates trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused strategies. Her approach is collaborative and strength-based, fostering a therapeutic environment where clients feel seen, valued, and supported.

Jamie’s ideal clients are children, adolescents, and women navigating life transitions such as parenting, postpartum challenges, grief, and the complex experiences of military family life. She is especially passionate about walking with military families through the challenges of moves, deployments, reintegration, and life shifts. She believes that healing happens in the context of authentic connection, and that therapy is a place to rediscover resilience and reclaim one’s story.
