Amber Darden, M.A., M.P.A, LGPC

“I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between the client(s) and the therapist. This process has the potential to bring about significant personal transformation, healing, and positive change. The establishment of a strong and authentic therapeutic alliance is essential in creating a safe and supportive environment where the client can express and explore their experiences, challenges, and successes. This enables the client to gain enhanced self-awareness and understanding, which can serve as a catalyst for personal development.”

About The Clinician

Amber is a graduate from Pepperdine University with a Master of Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy emphasis. She is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor with a deep passion for helping individuals, couples, and families. Her past experience lies in working at an outpatient mental health clinic, serving adolescents, families, and young adults.

Amber’s ideal clients are individuals, couples, or families who are struggling with relational challenges that are affecting their personal and/or collective well-being. These challenges may involve their self-identity, romantic relationships, platonic or queerplatonic partnerships, family dynamics (including their families of origin and extended families), and connections to their community and social support networks. She is particularly passionate about working with clients within the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. Her goal is to assist individuals and couples in developing healthy, authentic connections with themselves, their loved ones, and their communities, ultimately leading to greater meaning and well-being in their lives.

Amber likes to focus on the client’s strengths to help them explore ways to use their personal and environmental resources to support their desired growth and change. The therapeutic process will allow clients to make meaning out of their experiences and to apply their growth beyond the therapeutic setting, in all areas of their lives.
